The below content has been transcribed from “¿No Le Gusta Su Seguro Médico? Cambia HOY Sin Esperar el Open Enrollment”, and translated to English.

Carlos: Greetings, we’re halfway through 2025, and it’s important to know that if you’re not happy with your current health plan, you don’t have to wait until Obamacare Open Enrollment begins to make the switch. If you’re not happy with your health plan, this video is for you. Greetings from the Freedom Group. We are a group of companies dedicated to serving the Hispanic community with all aspects of accounting, taxes, financial planning, retirement plans, and real estate. We can help you in many ways.

And as I mentioned at the beginning, we here at the Freedom group have served many people who, for various reasons, aren’t very happy with their current health plan and perhaps don’t know they can seek a solution now and don’t have to wait for Obamacare’s Open Enrollment to start to make a change. To help me with this issue, I’m going to invite my colleague Jenny Reh. How are you, Jenny Reh?

Very well, Carlos, thank God. How are you? Well, thank the Lord.

Jenny Reh is our expert on all things financial planning, retirement planning, and health insurance. Jenny Reh, we know we’re halfway through 2025, right? And unfortunately, there are people who didn’t get their health insurance through your team, right?

And for one reason or another, they’re not very happy with their health plan for various reasons. You mentioned to me that many of these people who come with these comments don’t know they have an option now, that they don’t have to wait. What can we discuss about this?

Yenniree: That’s right, Carlos. People often think we have to wait until after the open enrollment period to make any changes. The truth is, we don’t. There are certain conditions that apply so people can make changes during the year.

We’ve heard from people, for example, who said they were going to earn a certain amount of money for some reason, lost hours, lost income, and now they’re paying a lot for insurance, and those people don’t know they can make an adjustment, lower their income, and get a better insurance option. Or people who simply went to the insurance marketplace, enrolled themselves, and now have no one to ask exactly how the plan works, which doctors they can see, what the network is, the co-pay. They don’t understand out-of-pocket because those terms are a bit complicated, and these people don’t know they can get help throughout the year from a specialized agent.

For example, at Freedom Insurance, we support our clients throughout the year. Whether they need to make changes or not, if they need information, we can help. Unfortunately, there are people who don’t have that support from the agent they hired and are left alone; they don’t even understand how the plan works. Maybe they have a good plan, but they don’t understand it and don’t use it.

We’ve heard from many people who, as you mentioned, are halfway through the year and still haven’t had their annual checkup because they don’t know which primary care doctor to go to; they don’t have that support, they don’t have that help. So, what we do with our clients is evaluate the plan, see what plan they have, and see if it’s really a good fit for them, or if we can find a better option so they have a good plan. We explain to them exactly what the steps are for them to get their annual checkup, which primary care doctor accepts the plan, or different primary care doctors accept the plan.

We help you find the lab, the hospital, and urgent care for any emergency during this time. We just want you to know that if you’re not happy with your plan, if your plan was canceled—because there are even people who, for some reason, stopped paying, maybe linked a credit card to their insurance, lost it, and had to cancel it, and their plan was canceled without realizing it—you don’t have to wait until the next open enrollment to enroll. We can find different solutions for all of these people.

There are many exclusions we can use, including people who are arriving in the country, who are gaining immigration status, who are changing immigration status, who lost employer-based coverage, or who lost Medicaid. All of these people are eligible to enroll right now and have their health insurance start on the first of next month.

Carlos: That’s good. And Nire, if I’m one of those people who’s not happy with my current plan, right? What should I do?

Yenniree: Simple. You just have to call us, schedule an appointment, and we’ll help you. We’ll evaluate your plan. We’ll see what the available options are, given all the recent changes in health insurance plans. We’ll find the best option for you and your family. We don’t just look at the medical aspect; we also look at your income, assess your immigration status, and help you find the best option.

As I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to wait until the next Open Enrollment; we can do it today so you have the plan for next month.

Carlos: And does this consultation have any cost?

Yenniree: The consultation is completely free, there’s no cost to you, and you can even call us with no obligation. And for all those people who, for some reason, didn’t enroll during Open Enrollment and don’t have the opportunity to enroll during Open Enrollment, I want you to know that you still have time to enroll and have coverage for the rest of the years. You don’t have to wait until Open Enrollment.

These are all people who are not happy with their plan, who want to make a change, or who do not have health coverage, who are still in time and can purchase health insurance.

Carlos: Well, then people have no excuses because this evaluation that your team will perform on these people is completely free. So if you’re someone who’s not happy with your health plan, or if you’re happy with your health plan but maybe you don’t know if there’s a better option, right? It’s always good to check the insurance plans you have and compare them because maybe you’re happy, but maybe there isn’t a better option that’s equally good and cheaper—you never know.

Take advantage of this free consultation offered by the GENIRED team here at Freedom Insurance. Thanks, GENIRED, for this information, right? Because we know many people are saying, “I already have to wait until October to change my plan.”

No, that’s not true. You can switch now, save money, and get a better plan. Done.

Well, thank you very much, GENIRED, for being with us today. Thank you for watching this video. Remember to like this video or share it with someone who might benefit from it.

Remember that here at the Freedom Group, we love helping people achieve financial freedom with accounting, tax, financial planning, retirement planning, and real estate services. We can help you in many ways. Have a wonderful day and may God bless you.

Summary: Change Your Health Insurance Before Open Enrollment with Freedom Insurance

Don’t Wait for Open Enrollment — You Can Switch Now

As of mid-2025, many individuals are frustrated with their current health insurance plans—whether due to high costs, confusing coverage, or lack of proper support. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to wait until Open Enrollment in October or November to make a change. In this episode, Carlos Hurst and Yenniree Medina from Freedom Insurance explain how you can switch health insurance plans today under special conditions.

Why You May Qualify to Switch Now

Many people assume they’re stuck with their plan until the next enrollment window. But if you’ve experienced a drop in income, a change in employment, a canceled card, or a coverage lapse, you’re likely eligible to switch now under a Special Enrollment Period. In fact, many don’t realize that:

  • You can adjust reported income if it has changed
  • You may qualify if you recently moved, lost Medicaid, or lost employer coverage
  • New immigrants or those adjusting status are often eligible immediately
  • Plans canceled due to payment issues can be replaced before Open Enrollmen

Interesting Fact: According to healthcare.gov, more than 60% of marketplace enrollees qualify for a Special Enrollment Period at some point in the year.

The Problem with DIY Insurance Enrollment

Yenniree explains that many people enrolled in plans on their own through the health marketplace without help—and now don’t fully understand their benefits. This lack of guidance leads to confusion around terms like deductible, co-pay, provider network, or out-of-pocket maximums. As a result, some individuals skip their free annual check-ups simply because they don’t know which doctor to visit or what their plan includes.

What Freedom Insurance Offers You

Freedom Insurance provides year-round support, not just during enrollment season. Their bilingual team evaluates your current plan, explains every benefit in detail, and identifies better or more affordable options based on:
